This is most probably the same issue as reported in

 http://lists.oetiker.ch/pipermail/smokeping-users/2010-November/004221.html

It looks like fping is unusable on armel on both sid/squeeze and lenny.

The only response from the maintainer so far is downgrading the severity.
AnĂ­bal, could you please explain why? Did you actually try to run fping
on armel with some positive results?

(I'll try and see if I can dig into the actual problem next.)
