Package: ifupdown
Version: 0.6.8+nmu1
Severity: normal

/etc/network/interfaces contains
iface eth0 inet6 static
        address 2405:3C00:1:4200::36
        netmask 64
        gateway 2405:3C00:1:4200::1

However, on 'ifup eth0',

2: eth0: <BROADCAST,MULTICAST,UP,LOWER_UP> mtu 1500 qlen 1000
    inet6 2405:3c00:1:4200:21a:4dff:fe45:e65/64 scope global dynamic
       valid_lft forever preferred_lft forever
    inet6 2405:3c00:1:4200::36/64 scope global
       valid_lft forever preferred_lft forever

i.e. despite the 'static' configuration, a dynamic address has still been
configured.

'static' in the stanza should set sysctl net.ipv6.conf.$INTERFACE.autoconf=0, I
reckon.
