Hi,
An update on this bug. The system is now running
xserver-xorg-video-intel version 2:2.13.0-2
linux-image-2.6.32-5-686 version 2.6.32-28
and the display corruption persists. This machine is only usable with the
vesa driver or by downgrading to Debian Lenny.
I should comment that it appears to be a problem with the kernel mode
setting. I've noticed the text displayed during the boot sequence becomes
"unstable" as soon as the kernel switches to a higher-resolution console
--- there is a flickering visible in the scan lines of the text, before
xorg starts. Disabling KMS on the kernel command line fixes the text
problem but since the intel xorg driver requires KMS this prevents X from
starting. Should I refile this bug against the kernel?
The computer is using an Ampro MightBoard 800 mini-itx motherboard. I am
happy to loan one of these boards and pay for postage in both directions
if it would help fix this problem.
