when hal is installed and running, it seems to work fine. i don't think the LTSP shutdown/reboot support in lxsession really should neeed hal in any way, but at least that's a workaround, and it didn't before the patch adding upower support was added.
i think the patch mentioned in the initial bug report doesn't introduce any problems, and doesn't require hal to be installed to function, though is probably too late for squeeze inclusion. hopefully it will get pushed upstream? live well, vagrant -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-bugs-dist-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of "unsubscribe".
