Package: udev
Version: 164-3

Hi there,

I just installed Debian Squeeze on my Thinkpad X41 notebook. Then installed a couple packages and on reboot the system hangs on this message:

Waiting for /dev to be fully populated... [ 12.612160] Error: Driver 'pcspkr' is already registered, aborting ...

Everything is standard, I did not yet change anything. I replaced the standard hd with a compact flash module and therefore used the btrfs filesystem for my root/home drive (boot drive is seperate) and also encrypted it using the installer (encrypt drive using luks).

System booted fine twice when I first installed it. Only hangs after installing a whole bunch of desktop related packages, among them udev. Feel free to move this bug to an appropriate package if you think udev is not responsible.

Thx,

Malte
