Package: a2ps Version: 4.13b-4.3 Severity: important
I wish to complain that suddenly in sarge, a2ps now depends on emacsen-common. This is quite bizarre. a2ps has nothing whatsoever to do with an editor, and yet it mysteriously, and quite annoyingly, depending on this totally unrelated package. Furthermore, it goes on to suggest emacsen or emacs21-nox. How wrong is that? It suggests a particular editor? I understand that if you're an emacs user, the emacs-related stuff is useful, but it doesn't belong in this package. It should be stripped out and put into a separate emacs-a2ps package that depends on a2ps and emacsen-common, not the way it currently is. Then, non-emacs users can continue to enjoy a2ps like we have for many, many years. -- System Information: Debian Release: 3.1 Architecture: i386 (i686) Kernel: Linux 2.6.12.2 Locale: LANG=C, LC_CTYPE=C (charmap=ANSI_X3.4-1968) Versions of packages a2ps depends on: ii debianutils 2.8.4 Miscellaneous utilities specific t ii libc6 2.3.2.ds1-22 GNU C Library: Shared libraries an ii libpaper1 [libpaperg] 1.1.14-3 Library for handling paper charact ii psutils 1.17-17 A collection of PostScript documen -- no debconf information -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe".
