i've just read that you added support for booting floppy and CD images via memdisk from the extlinux menu. While this is cool, I wonder if you want to stay with the monolithic extlinux-update script in the long term or if you are going to switch to an extendable collection of scripts as grub2 has (I have already sent a proposal for this)?

I'd like to add support for other OSes that os-prober detects and for packages like grub-invaders and memtest86 (the latter all include bundled script that hook into update-grub).

BTW, I think that the detected floppy and CD images should appear in a separate submenu and not in the top level menu.
