I guess you have a address entry that jpilot can't convert to UTF8.

What "Character Set" do you use? Go in
File->Preferences->Locale->Character Set

You can also try a new version (0.99.7-0.99.8-pre10-2) from [1] but I
don't think that will solve your problem.
