Severity: normal

Short request:
Please document how to get pbuilder working for tesating and unstable
target for stable system in /usr/share/doc/pbuilder/pbuilder-doc.htm
I think installing backported pbuilder is the only sure solution.

Long story...
Thanks for providing nice tool. pbuilde now should be called "pristine
builder". Anyway, here I go.

We understand that we can not release a functioning stable package which
depends on how Debian evolves after its release. At the same time, our
objective is to have all the stable package to be completely
functioning.

If pbuilder in stable release does not work for next release candidate
(testing) or sid (unstable) target, this is something we should accept
as a life. (in terms of code.)

But I thought we can do better. How? It is by adding few lines in its
documentation. If documentation clearly states limitation of pbuilder
under stable (or bveven testing) environment, it should reduce trouble
for newcommer.

As for the solution, I think just installing unstable version is mostly
fine since pbuilder is just shell script. But I am sure you know
better. I am just pointing apt-src to unstable and using "apt-get
source" and "debuild" to create local package. Then installing just in
case you are including some binary tools.

May I suggest to add some words in the footnote [2]. Etch++ may have
some serious change so etch version of pbuilder may not work.
