Package: cupt Version: 1.5.14.1 Severity: wishlist Hi,
Long time no write. Today I learned that my /var/lib/apt/lists was about three times as large as it ought to be. Running "ls", I found lists from mirrors I no longer use. "apt-get update" fixed it. The apt-get(8) manual says: --list-cleanup This option defaults to on, use --no-list-cleanup to turn it off. When on apt-get will automatically manage the contents of /var/lib/apt/lists to ensure that obsolete files are erased. The only reason to turn it off is if you frequently change your source list. Configuration Item: APT::Get::List-Cleanup. Perhaps cupt could use the same configuration and semantics? (If so, I see no reason to make it controllable with a separate commandline option from -o, on the other hand.) Thanks again for making cupt. I will have to take the plunge to trying the C++ version one of these days, and then I will be ready to start hacking on proper pre-depends support. (I haven't forgotten about the existing bugs, either; time is just hard to find.) Ciao, Jonathan -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-bugs-dist-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of "unsubscribe".
