Package: tracker Version: 0.8.17-1 Severity: wishlist hi,
since the demise of Beagle, I started using Tracker; I miss the email indexing a lot, though (I use icedove). I googled around and found this page http://hub.opensolaris.org/bin/view/Project+jds/MetaTracker where it claims that indexing in Thunderbird and Firefox is supported in OpenSolaris. I also found a Ubuntu page http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=472747 that points to http://blogs.sun.com/migi/entry/call_for_test_metatracker that points to http://pkgbuild.svn.sourceforge.net/viewvc/pkgbuild?revision=827&view=revision where it seems that some code is available. a. -- System Information: Debian Release: 6.0 APT prefers testing APT policy: (500, 'testing') Architecture: amd64 (x86_64) Kernel: Linux 2.6.32-5-openvz-amd64 (SMP w/2 CPU cores) Locale: LANG=it_IT.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=it_IT.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/bash Versions of packages tracker depends on: ii dbus 1.2.24-4 simple interprocess messaging syst ii libc6 2.11.2-7 Embedded GNU C Library: Shared lib ii libdbus-1-3 1.2.24-4 simple interprocess messaging syst ii libdbus-glib-1-2 0.88-2.1 simple interprocess messaging syst ii libglib2.0-0 2.24.2-1 The GLib library of C routines ii libpango1.0-0 1.28.3-1 Layout and rendering of internatio ii libsqlite3-0 3.7.3-1 SQLite 3 shared library ii libtracker-client-0.8-0 0.8.17-1 metadata database, indexer and sea ii libtracker-miner-0.8-0 0.8.17-1 tracker data miner library ii libunac1 1.8.0-2 The unac programming library - run ii libupower-glib1 0.9.5-5 abstraction for power management - ii libuuid1 2.17.2-5 Universally Unique ID library ii shared-mime-info 0.71-4 FreeDesktop.org shared MIME databa ii zlib1g 1:1.2.3.4.dfsg-3 compression library - runtime Versions of packages tracker recommends: ii tracker-gui 0.8.17-1 metadata database, indexer and sea ii tracker-miner-evolution 0.8.17-1 metadata database, indexer and sea ii tracker-miner-fs 0.8.17-1 metadata database, indexer and sea ii tracker-utils 0.8.17-1 metadata database, indexer and sea tracker suggests no packages. -- no debconf information -- Andrea Mennucc "The EULA sounds like it was written by a team of lawyers who want to tell me what I can't do, and the GPL sounds like it was written by a human being who wants me to know what I can do."
