Package: evolution Version: 2.30.3-5 Severity: normal I stopped evolution prior to the upgrade as recommended.
When this version was started, I briefly saw something to do with migration displayed in a dialog. I may have clicked on a button to start the migration. Evolution's main window did not seem to come up -- or perhaps I was too impatient, or it came up briefly and crashed. Apologies for the poor description. I then restarted evolution, and all folders were there, but all were empty. du .evolution suggested the mail was still really present. I resolved the problem by pulling a backup, and removing all files from .evolution that were not in the backup. Notably a bunch of folders.db files, also a config/state file. This time when evolution was started, it briefly displayed a message about doing a conversion in the status bar, and all messages then appeared in the folders. I've retained a copy of everything in .evolution-bad , if needed for debugging.
