on a transparent xfce4-panel (4.8, not yet in unstable), gajim systray
icon doesn't have a transparent background while others have it.
A screenshot is attached to show the result.
I found some traces of similar bugs in 2006 but they're supposed to be
fixed so I guess it's not the same thing.
I'm not sure it's python related since wicd tray icon is displayed
correctly.

It's fixed upstream in 0.14, so it will be in unstable when squeeze
freeze will be over.
