Sorry, but I don't see how that has anything to do with zathura. zathura just calls lp (per default) to print files. The command which is run by zathura is something like 'lp -D printer_name -P pages filename'. So you might want to try to print the PDF files with lp directly and if the problem persists, reassign the bug against cups-client (or lprng or whatever package is providing /usr/bin/lp).
