I cannot reproduce your bug, neither in my unstable box nor in my stable chroot, so i will need some more information: - is the problem still present if you reinstall the official debian package? - Could you give me the result of running on the command line: $ locale $ grep fr_ /etc/locale.gen Could you also give me the exact command line you use to run Aspell.
