Ah, I had a download limit by accident which I didn't actually want, so hopefully I'll be able to run it without problems for a while. I also rebuilt the package with debugging enabled and without stripping and ran it in valgrind. This would sometimes run for hours without crashing, memory use stabilising somewhere between 1 and 2GB, until I stopped it manually. The high CPU load, slow response and memory consumption was too inconvenient though. I collected some logs etc. I can't find what's causing the memory leaks and the backtraces show threads dying while waiting, so probably something else killing them (the system due to memory exhaustion?).
