Package: reportbug Version: 4.12.6 Severity: important I made a fresh install of Debian testing. The microphone of my headset worked perfectly. Then i installed a few packages: qc-usb-utils, vlc, audacity, wine and checked back whether my microphone was still working and it wasn't working anymore. I removed the workpackages I had just installed using "aptitude remove" but the microphone never worked again. My feeling is that the package responsible was qc-usb-utils. I am using a Logitech USB camera and I think that when I installed qc-usb-utils that made the built-in microphone in the usb camera to be recognized. This microphone, by the way, doesn't work either. I say this because after the fres install, "HDA Intel (Alsa mixer)" was the only device listed in the "gnome-volume-control" but after I installed the packages I ha ve mentioned above also a device called "USB Device 0x46d:0x8ad (Alsa mixer) is reported. I managed to find out that my soundcard is a RealTeak ALC889. Also there is no way of making the "cross" on the microphone in the gnome-volume-control disapearing when i click on it. Well, it disapears, but it is there again when I reopen the window.
I am a newby and it is the first time I submit a report so I am not sure if I submitted it to the right place. I apologize if I didn't but I did my best. I have done all my best trying to read in the forums and i also googled a lot trying to find a solution but I have failed. I apretiate your time and effort in helping me.
