Package: gnumeric Version: 1.10.8-1squeeze5 Severity: important
After upgrading from Debian-5.0, latest patch level, to 6.0r0, gnumeric has become very slow to use. The problem is worse with complex sheets, but exen exists with the empty sheet that gnumeric starts with: Just moving the cursor up, down, left and right, after a couple of seconds, gnumeric begins to lag. Then it takes about half a second to navigate to another cell. There is no noticeable use of CPU while this happens (verfied with "top"). After maybe ten to twenty seconds the problem goes away. It comes back periodically. The same problem occurs on another machine with different hardware but a similar setup. -- System Information: Debian Release: 6.0 Architecture: i386 (i686) Kernel: Linux 2.6.32.4 (SMP w/4 CPU cores; PREEMPT) Locale: LANG=en_US.ISO-8859-15, LC_CTYPE=de_DE@euro (charmap=ISO-8859-15) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/bash Versions of packages gnumeric depends on: ii debconf [de 1.5.36.1 Debian configuration management sy ii gconf2 2.28.1-6 GNOME configuration database syste ii gnumeric-co 1.10.8-1squeeze5 spreadsheet application for GNOME ii gsfonts 1:8.11+urwcyr1.0.7~pre44-4.2 Fonts for the Ghostscript interpre ii libatk1.0-0 1.30.0-1 The ATK accessibility toolkit ii libc6 2.11.2-10 Embedded GNU C Library: Shared lib ii libcairo2 1.8.10-6 The Cairo 2D vector graphics libra ii libglade2-0 1:2.6.4-1 library to load .glade files at ru ii libglib2.0- 2.24.2-1 The GLib library of C routines ii libgoffice- 0.8.8-1 Document centric objects library - ii libgsf-1-11 1.14.18-1 Structured File Library - runtime ii libgtk2.0-0 2.20.1-2 The GTK+ graphical user interface ii libpango1.0 1.28.3-1+squeeze1 Layout and rendering of internatio ii libxml2 2.7.8.dfsg-2 GNOME XML library ii procps 1:3.2.8-9 /proc file system utilities ii zlib1g 1:1.2.3.4.dfsg-3 compression library - runtime Versions of packages gnumeric recommends: pn evince | evince-gtk <none> (no description available) pn lp-solve <none> (no description available) Versions of packages gnumeric suggests: pn epiphany-browser <none> (no description available) pn gnumeric-doc <none> (no description available) pn gnumeric-plugins-extra <none> (no description available) pn ttf-liberation | ttf-mscorefo <none> (no description available) -- debconf information: gnumeric/existing-process: false gnumeric/existing-process-title: -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [email protected] with a subject of "unsubscribe".
