This is done as of mke2fs 1.41.10.

Given the block size is typically 4k (and can be no more than the page
size of the architecture on which it runs), and the RAID chunk size is
many times that (i.e., 32k, 64k, or more) , I don't think this is a
problem....   or did you mean something other than block size?
