You are probably using tetex-bin_3.0-6.0, the file was called 00tetex.cnf previously. > $ grep lambda /var/lib/texmf/web2c/fmtutil.cnf > lambda omega language.dat lambda.ini > lamed aleph language.dat *lambda.ini This looks as it should (indicating that lambda has the right entry in 00tetex.cnf). > $ dpkg -S lambda.ini > tetex-extra: /usr/share/texmf/tex/latex/config/lambda.ini > > $ kpsewhich --progname=lambda lambda.ini > $ #no output > > $ ls /usr/share/texmf/tex/latex/config/ > latex.ini pdfelatex.ini pdflatex.ini pdfxlatex.ini This means that dpkg thinks that lambda.ini is in /usr/share/texmf/tex/latex/config/, but it isn't. Of course we don't do anything with these files in our scripts, so either you (or something on your system) has removed it, or there is a bug in dpkg. Did you perhaps interrupt apt or dpkg during installation? Regards, Frank -- Frank Küster Inst. f. Biochemie der Univ. Zürich Debian Developer
