could you please tell us how it goes with vesa or fbdev instead of nouveau? It might be nice to attach an (old) Xorg log, from a crash. (I didn't reply yet since Sven is usually taking care of nouveau bugs, but he might have missed it since it wasn't filed against the nouveau driver. We'll see later if it has to be reassigned.) KiBi.
