Logging of output of cron jobs to syslog is not something I would think of
being a good idea. There's a lot of potential for mischief there, if a user
installs a cron task that tries to simulate "normal logs" an admin (or
a tool that parses the logs) might be confused if this output was included
(verbatim) into the logs.

If a user wants to log to syslog he can provide his own task and make use
of logger.

In my opinion, this bug is not a bug (cron already Recommends: an mta) and
supporting syslog output of cronjobs is not something we want to do.
