Confirmed in my system. After upgrade libcairo2 from 1.8.10-6 to 1.10.2-6 my GNOME interface become very unresponsible. Any menus are rendering very slow, when I switching applications from Claws Mail to Nautilus or Firefox, I have to wait 2-3 seconds to render application window. Also, I notified in Iceweasel4 (grabbed from experimental repository): It wrongly making transparent elements in Iceweasel interface. Active selected tab background is white (making text in some styles unreadable). Also address bar background in white, totally no transparence. To get rid of this, I installed Ubuntu's 10.10 package, libcairo2 version 1.10.0-1ubuntu2. And everything now back to normal, fast menus and windows, fully working transparence in Iceweasel4. I check it on kernels 2.6.38, 2.6.32, same results. Using nvidia-glx driver 260.19.44-1.
