That is a pity. Also as the patch was in debian mutt package long time
ago. I still have no idea why it was dropped from the package. No one
gave me a reason.

:-(

That means that I have to always rebuild the mutt package when a new
package comes out. Without this patch mutt is unusable for me at all.

Upstream is a bit problematic. Upstream is such a utf-8 follower that he
not see any reason to do something for non-utf-8 charsets without having
the pressure of many people. That is mad. But I tried to discuss with
him once and decided that I will put him on a list with such people than
Schilly or Hans Reiser. You can bring any reasonable argument but he is
not willing to see them.

Thanks for the honest answer. What I am searching for is any reasonable
reason _why_ this patch was dropped from debian package and _why_ not to
put it back again. There are so many patches in debian mutt that might
have no change to get included in upstream. So why not this particular
patch? More over as it fix a buggy behaviour.
