I downloaded http://sourceforge.net/projects/gtkpod/files/gtkpod/gtkpod-2.0.0/gtkpod-2.0.0.tar.gz/download and checked the configure.ac file. There there is no longer a check for gnome-vfs or hal. I also couldn't find any references in the code. Where did you find those "Recommends" mentioned? Anyway, from what I've seen, you can safely drop libgnomevfs2-dev and libhal-dev from Build-Depends. -- Why is it that all of the instruments seeking intelligent life in the universe are pointed away from Earth?
