Hi! Today I installed printer-applet (wich is a kde app) wich in turn, by suggests, installed gnome-icon-theme.
When I restarted my session, voilá, there was sflphone's icon. So I guess it's not an upstream bug but a missing dependency on gnome-icon- theme (or some related package).
