Hi Phil, sorry for the long delay.

For now I go to the easy solution. There are some workarounds in apticron to
try to return the same results when querying aptitude and dselect (apt-get)
databases, as they differs in many ways. So, once we decide to use aptitude
to generate the initial packages list, probably new many issues will bother
users and new workarounds will be needed.

That said, I'm suggesting apt-get instead of aptitude for users. If we get
complains then I may consider aptitude for generating packages list in the
future.
