Package: util-linux Version: 2.17.2-9.1 Severity: wishlist with recent versions of mount, it is possible to directly mount an encrypted block device; mount then asks for a password (i suppose mount consults /etc/crypttab for this).
currently, if i try to fsck an encrypted block device, i get:
fsck from util-linux-ng 2.17.2
fsck: fsck.crypto_LUKS: not found
fsck: Error 2 while executing fsck.crypto_LUKS for
/dev/mapper/vg0-home--shared
i think that it would be nice if fsck could do the same thing as mount,
that is, cryptsetup luksOpen the device, check the decrypted device, and
luksClose it again. (probably there is also some checking for already
existing opendings required, but that should already be in mount as
well.)
