OK, so your concern is that in lenny, kadmin didn't even try v6, so the
AAAA record didn't break anything but in squeeze, you're seeing a
problem because it's trying to use the AAAA record?

If so that's really annoying, but is something we can look into fixing.

Both lenny and squeeze should support IPv6 for the general
authentication exchange. 

Also, I'm happy to backport 1.9 to squeeze if that's useful. I think I'm
going to end up needing to backport 1.9 to squeeze for other reasons.
