Hi, i don't know if this warrants a new bug report, I don't think it does, even if it seems that this one is dead.
Anyway, for my laptop I have an pci-e e-sata card. It supports hotplugging and everything. Now, even if I have the drive turned on when booting the computer, with the card built in, it doesn't seem as though udev recognizes it. The lights on the card are on, so it seems the card is working. However, xfdesktop does show the icon for the drive on the desktop. An icon shows up in nautilus, but it is not mounted, and when you try to mount it in nautilus, it does not work saying "Authentification is required" in the error dialog. Nothing shows up in Pcmanfm which uses udisks. The same drive mounts fine in nautilus and pcmanfm using usb to connect. Hotplugging also does not work in the same way. The same drive mounts when using usb to connect it. So the fact that it is formatted as ntfs doesn't seem to matter. This information may be a little sparse, but if there is anyway I can give more, just tell me how. cat /proc/scsi/scsi the device DOES appear. Look forward to hearing back, Paul -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [email protected] with a subject of "unsubscribe". Trouble? Contact [email protected]
