Package: ddclient Version: 3.8.0-11.3 Severity: wishlist File: ddclient As bug #592927 says, the shipped version of ddclient is out of date, and useful functionality has been added since then, in particular, freedns support.
I have filed an issue upstream requesting a new release, but in the mean time, perhaps you could use r111 or later? (Contrary to your remark in #592927, a single revision number does make sense in Subversion, as revision numbers are global to the repository: you see hence that some packages which use unreleased code use a version number like x.y-rzzz). I tried using inadyn, which supports freedns, but it's not packaged in a very user-friendly way, so for example it doesn't configure when installed with dpkg, and doesn't have any auto-start-on-boot facility. (Yeah, I filed a bug about that too; I hope it can re-use ddclient's code for doing those things.) Thanks for packaging ddclient, which has been doing dynamic DNS happily for me for years now. -- System Information: Debian Release: squeeze/sid APT prefers natty-updates APT policy: (500, 'natty-updates'), (500, 'natty-security'), (500, 'natty') Architecture: amd64 (x86_64) Kernel: Linux 2.6.38-8-generic (SMP w/4 CPU cores) Locale: LANG=en_GB.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=en_GB.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/dash -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-bugs-dist-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of "unsubscribe".
