Hi,
After reading about the move to /run in the release goals, I upgraded my
Wheezy to use initscripts from unstable and then found my network not
running. Googling about I found this bug report.
I've tried upgrading the rest of the sysvinit packages to no avail, also
downgrading everything didn't help.

Reading bug 625204 as well, i checked and my /etc/network/run is not a
symlink to /dev/shm/network but is a directory with chmod 755 set. Making it
a symlink to there didn't help either did the patch attached to that bug
report.
I'm also pretty sure that i tried symlinking /etc/network/run to
/run/network to no avail.

Checking with ifconfig lo gets created but eth0 is missing (but is mentioned
in ifstate).

So I am open to try any suggestions which might both a) fix this for me and
b) help prevent this happening to others when initscripts gets updated.

thanks
MikeJJ

P.S. And yes, I've learnt my lesson to not play with unstable, until I know
more about how the system works.
