Well, as far as I understand, the only reason for which wine-safe exists is to display a warning before running the executable file with wine. It does not. But overall, you are right. I see no reason why wine-safe should ever be used in mime handlers and this is the real issue. And if wine-safe is only used in mime handlers, it should probably be removed altogether.
