On my system I found two directories: /var/cache/i386 and /var/cache/amd64 I think, they are obsolete because they are containing outdatet files /var/cache/amd64: drwxr-xr-x 3 root root 4096 Jul 3 2009 archives -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 13031119 Jul 6 2009 pkgcache.bin -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 12023473 Jul 6 2009 srcpkgcache.bin /var/cache/apt/i386: drwxr-xr-x 3 root root 4096 Jul 3 2009 archives -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 12822627 Jul 6 2009 pkgcache.bin -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 12136624 Jul 6 2009 srcpkgcache.bin Can I savely remove them? BTW: dpkg -S pkgcache.bin gives no package, which owns this files.
