Package: rxvt-unicode Version: 9.11-1 Severity: important Hi,
with rxvt-unicode I sometimes have a problem which seems like terminal content is not properly refreshed. I'll try to explain that a bit more understandable: Consider a terminal running an irssi. If the problem occurs the terminal won't show any changes (messages, joins/parts etc.) anymore. There is a first aid solution: If I press Strg+L everything which happened so far is shown properly and the problem is away for a while. It then reappears as soon as a certain amount of activity happend on that terminal. For that reason I could imagine that some kind of buffer could be involved.. Note that irssi is just an example to better illustrate the issue at hand. It also happens with ordinary terminals which just run a shell. Unfortunately it does happen randomly. Sometimes the problem arises and then stays for a while. In this case a restart of the terminal is not enough. Restarting X seems to help but only for a short while. Restarting the whole system basically is the best option in that case as in most cases the problem stays away for some hours.. Well.. I know its not much I can tell. The problem is not reliable reproducible. Still, it happens often enough to really nag me. It does not happen with other terminals, so I assume its a bug with rxvt-unicode or an extension. That said, I'm using the tabbed extension and the matcher extension. I wouldn't wonder if the tabbed extension is the culprit, but I don't have any idea where I could start debugging that.
