Some time ago I had started some downloads and haven't finished them, closed rtorrent and haven't started it for a while, then, a couple of versions/updates later, it stopped working. After I cleared all the files + cache and started it "fresh", all went back to normal. Seems like there's some incompatibility between versions in the way they handle files or cache.
