Hi, I was also affected by this issue. Since the last update of pcscd (1.7.2-2 -> 1.7.4-1) I got the following message on the console just several seconds after accessing the OpenPGP card (eg with gpg --card-status):
Message from syslogd@carbon at Jul 1 18:08:00 ... 4> My card reader is "Gemalto GemPC Express 00 00". After the installation of the gpgsm pkg (and probably using scdaemon) the message doesn't occur any more. Hope that helps.
