Hi there! Another one here with same issue. I was trying to make it work number of times and on different approaches, no luck so far. I was getting "segmentation fault" when installed proprietary drivers debian-way and from NVIDIAs default installer, on 275 and 280 versions. The worst part is nouveau isn't working for me either and now I have to use vesa, which doesn't allow me to use high resolution (not mentioning other lacks). Oh, and BTW, I was trying installation on latest 2.6.39 kernel as well as on earlier one and on 3.0~rc5 too, so it seems not kernel related. It doesn't look like that drivers are guilty too, I guess there's something wrong with Xserver itself, maybe with communication with drivers, but I have no experience and enough knowledge to figure it out.
