I think you've misunderstood me and/or misread my patch.

OK, let's take the dwarfdump package description line by line ("|" is
quoting the current dwarfdump package description):

You say above:

So the package is not the *original* utility, it's the newer one.

Again, according to what you yourself say above, this is not the *older
implementation* and it is not *written in C.

There is no dwarfdump2 package in the archive, and as far as I can tell
there never has been.
