I need to clarify that a bit. Older Ubuntu versions did mount /lib/init/rw, but effectively didn't use it, as they had their /var/run-mount-early hack. Recent Ubuntu versions therefore did not provide /lib/init/rw anymore (at least maverick and natty). >> What exactly is lxc doing here? Dropping /lib/init/rw for the Fedora template is pretty safe, I'd say. I'm very certain that Fedora never used that facility. Also, the templates/lxc-fedora.in says it is based off fedora-10 which is pretty much outdated. In addition it uses none /var/lock tmpfs nodev, noexec, nosuid, showthrough 0 0 The showthrough mount option is a Ubuntu hack, which Fedora never supported. So I very much doubt that the fedora template is actually working. That said, I haven't actually tried running it. For the /run transition, this particular issue is definitely no blocker. So feel free to do what you deem right. Cheers, Michael -- Why is it that all of the instruments seeking intelligent life in the universe are pointed away from Earth?
