if GTK_IM_MODULE is set, "xim" or "uim", does sonata crash?

ok, if XCOMPOSEFILE is not set, uim uses ~/.XCompose automatically.
can you send your ~/.XCompose file?
and your locale is fr_FR.UTF-8 to use sonata?

sorry, there is no plan to backport uim 1.7.0 for dependency reason.
