Problem is, most of our production desktops are still Lenny, so I'm going to 
need to make a custom package for our local repository anyway.  My initial test 
on my tiny tcl test script is promising - it looks like that is fixed.  I now 
need to pass the test package on to one of my scientific colleagues to see if 
it also fixes the issue in his much more significant DNA sequencing application.

I can't tell you how happy we're all going to be if this really has fixed the 
issue.  It's been irritating the hell out of our end users ever since Etch came 
out.  I was on the point of switching everyone to Xfce instead...

I'll let you know how it's going later on.
