But there remains a minor issue concerning the "-title" option of xpdf with a compressed file, e.g., beta.pdf.gz or a file without the ending .pdf, e.g. xx_pdf: $ xpdf -title "new title" beta.pdf.gz and $ xpdf -title "new title" xx_pdf don't show the "new title".
