Hello:

After last upgrade, on Sid, to Linux 3.0, firmware-b43-installer fails on recognized chip card and suggest to install firmware-b43legacy-installer.

----------- Cut from console ---------
Configurando firmware-b43-installer (1:014-5) ...
An unsupported BCM4301, BCM4303, BCM4306 or BCM4306/2 device was found.
Use b43legacy firmware (firmware-b43legacy-installer package) instead.
Aborting.
------------ end of cut ------------

My chip card is BCM4306 rev3:

0001:10:12.0 Network controller [0280]: Broadcom Corporation BCM4306 802.11b/g Wireless LAN Controller [14e4:4320] (rev 03)
Subsystem: Apple Computer Inc. AirPort Extreme [106b:004e]
Flags: bus master, fast devsel, latency 16, IRQ 52
        Memory at a0006000 (32-bit, non-prefetchable) [size=8K]
Capabilities: [40] Power Management version 2
        Kernel driver in use: b43-pci-bridge

mark as b43 firmware on http://wireless.kernel.org/en/users/Drivers/b43#device_firmware_installation

Before read it, I was think that firmware is move to b43legacy on new versions and try to install it, I fall on "b43-phy0 ERROR: YOUR FIRMWARE IS TOO OLD" fail.

Installing firmware manually, wifi runs again.

Please, tell me if you need some more data.

Salud y Revolución.

Lobo.
