Hi, I can confirm every bit of this report!
I too have tried to manually run the failing rpcclient command and can confirm that removing the "NULL" entry ( 's/PPD:NULL:ADOBEPS4.HLP:/PPD:ADOBEPS4.HLP/' ) makes it work just fine. It looks like cupsaddsmb should not add that "NULL". Why does it? Is there some other (missing) file which cupsaddsmb expects to find? Anyway, it should be easy to fix. I guess this is an upstream bug: I've seen the exact same problem and behaviour also on a Mandriva 2010.2. Sometimes I've also got other different errors instead of "INVALID_PARAM", which made debuggin quite painful. In some cases, I've got smb process to PANIC and crash, resulting in BROKEN_PIPE errors. FYI, these were the versions of the related software installed on that Mandriva box: samba-common-3.5.3-3.3mdv2010.2 samba-server-3.5.3-3.3mdv2010.2 samba-client-3.5.3-3.3mdv2010.2 libcups2-1.4.3-3.1mdv2010.1 cups-1.4.3-3.1mdv2010.1 cups-common-1.4.3-3.1mdv2010.1 (I guess you know which versions are in Squeeze... :-) Ciao, Paolo. -- http://borex.lngs.infn.it/saggese You can still escape from the GATES of hell: Use Linux!
