Package: linux-2.6 Version: 3.0.0-2 Severity: important After booting (and logging in), the system works for some seconds and then i see quite some oopses for around 5 to 10 seconds. Then the system hangs completely.
I fail to understand where this comes from, and for me the stack traces only show symptoms, but maybe you have an idea. My system is a Intel Core i7 2600k. 2.6.39-2-686-pae works fine for me. linux-image-3.0.0-1-amd64 shows a similar behaviour (hangs after a few seconds) see the stack traces (from syslog) below: Aug 27 01:45:02 kero kernel: [ 20.612501] FS-Cache: Loaded Aug 27 01:45:02 kero kernel: [ 20.616567] FS-Cache: Netfs 'cifs' registered for caching Aug 27 01:45:02 kero kernel: [ 20.616754] CIFS: Unknown mount option codepage Aug 27 01:45:02 kero kernel: [ 20.621903] CIFS VFS: default security mechanism requested.
