I got a direct mail about this issue from niekt0. I forward here. ------------------------------------------------------------------ I am using mlterm version 3.0.6 ( from debian wheezy) I found http://www.mail-archive.com/debian-bugs-dist@lists.debian.org/msg938406.html but somehow I am not able to reply directly to mailinglist.
So: I don't think it is issue of screen. version 3.0.6 seem to be quite unstable in all situations. For example opem /var/log/messages in vim, a keep holding PGDN keyborad. Sometimes mlterm segfaults, sometimes just crash in other way. This is what I took with gdb (described scenario). (gdb) continue Continuing. Program received signal SIGABRT, Aborted. 0xb76fd424 in __kernel_vsyscall () (gdb) bt #0 0xb76fd424 in __kernel_vsyscall () #1 0xb7189911 in *__GI_raise (sig=6) at ../nptl/sysdeps/unix/sysv/linux/raise.c:64 #2 0xb718cd42 in *__GI_abort () at abort.c:92 #3 0xb71bf9d5 in __libc_message (do_abort=2, fmt=0xb7294a90 "*** glibc detected *** %s: %s: 0x%s ***\n") at ../sysdeps/unix/sysv/linux/libc_fatal.c:189 #4 0xb71c9ac1 in malloc_printerr (action=<optimized out>, str=0x6 <Address 0x6 out of bounds>, ptr=0x890ec18) at malloc.c:6283 #5 0xb71cb328 in _int_free (av=<optimized out>, p=<optimized out>) at malloc.c:4795 #6 0xb71ce3dd in *__GI___libc_free (mem=0x890ec18) at malloc.c:3738 #7 0xb71cf670 in *__GI___libc_realloc (oldmem=0x0, bytes=0) at malloc.c:3760 #8 0x0807b031 in ??
