I just re-read your message, and I think I may have misinterpreted it.
On my first read, I got the impression that you were expecting me to
answer those questions about why the problem occurred, which seemed
rather presumptuous.  So, on the re-read I realized that the parts
between the stars were some kind of template that wasn't removed.  So,
applogies for overreacting.
