This is probably part of a work to do on the laptop task in tasksel. The only concern, as usual in such cases in Debian is "which bloody thing should we install" ? I actually feel that laptop-mode-tools (now supported in kernel 2.6.12) should be part of this. Not sure whether something else is needed.
