Hi Ben, Okay, I turned the laptop off, waited 2 min and booted again. No change.
In KDE systemsetting only shows "Internal Audio Analog Stereo". Normally it should show "HDA Intel ....". Test on KDE gives no sound. cat /var/log/kern.log | grep HDA: Sep 11 14:57:47 Compac-deb kernel: [ 12.986870] HDA Intel 0000:00:1b.0: PCI INT A -> GSI 22 (level, low) -> IRQ 22 Sep 11 14:57:47 Compac-deb kernel: [ 12.986911] HDA Intel 0000:00:1b.0: setting latency timer to 64 Sep 11 14:57:47 Compac-deb kernel: [ 14.704708] input: HDA Digital PCBeep as /devices/pci0000:00/0000:00:1b.0/input/input11 Sep 11 14:57:47 Compac-deb kernel: [ 14.913335] input: HDA Intel Mic at Ext Rear Jack as /devices/pci0000:00/0000:00:1b.0/sound/card0/input12 Sep 11 14:57:47 Compac-deb kernel: [ 14.913408] input: HDA Intel HP Out at Ext Rear Jack as /devices/pci0000:00/0000:00:1b.0/sound/card0/input13 Compac-deb:/proc# cat devices Character devices: 1 mem 4 /dev/vc/0 4 tty 4 ttyS 5 /dev/tty 5 /dev/console 5 /dev/ptmx 6 lp 7 vcs 10 misc 13 input 14 sound/mixer 14 sound/dsp 14 sound/audio 21 sg 29 fb 81 video4linux 99 ppdev 116 alsa 128 ptm 136 pts 180 usb 189 usb_device 195 nvidia 252 hidraw 253 bsg 254 rtc Block devices: 259 blkext 7 loop 8 sd 11 sr 65 sd 66 sd 67 sd 68 sd 69 sd 70 sd 71 sd 128 sd 129 sd 130 sd 131 sd 132 sd 133 sd 134 sd 135 sd 254 device-mapper Need more info?
